Awards of Excellence 2008 - 21 January

This year the event was held at the impressive Guildhall in London, celebrating the achievements of the 50 top performing candidates in the 2007 WSET examinations.

During the evening, which is the “oscars” of wine and spirit education, scholarship winners receive their awards and meet their sponsors.

The award for the top Diploma graduate this year went to Anne McHale from Berry Bros, who received the Vintners' Cup and Scholarship.

Most of the scholarships are organised visits to wine or spirit producing areas, or travel bursaries to allow the winners to organise their own trips, thus helping to broaden their experience and further their careers.
