WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines (QCF)

1 day wine course provides basic wine knowledge as well looking at how to match food with wine.

WSET® Level 1 Award in Wine Service 

1 day course provides instruction in the art of wine service and includes the development of practical skills in a restaurant setting.

WSET® Level 1 Award in Spirits (QCF)

1 day course provides basic product knowledge and skills in service and marketing of spirits to prepare a person for their first job in hospitality or the spirit industry.

WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits (QCF)

This course covers the major grape varieties and where they are grown around the world. Students are taught how to taste wine professionally using the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting.

WSET® Level 2 Award in Spirits (QCF)

This spirits course gives a greater breadth and depth of knowledge in the specific area of spirits and liqueurs.

WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines and Spirits (QCF)

Provides a more comprehensive coverage of the wide range of wines and spirits around the world. The qualification has an increased focus on wine tasting technique.

WSET® Level 3 Award Sake

Currently only available through a small number of Approved Programme Providers, students attending this course will learn about the various production methods and their impact on style quality and price.

WSET® International Higher Certificate in Wines and spirits

This qualification is available through International WSET providers only. It is also available in several different languages.

WSET® Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits 

The Diploma is a specialist qualification where detailed knowledge is combined with commercial factors and a thorough system for the professional evaluation of wines and spirits.

WSET® Level 5 Honours Diploma 

***Please note: The Level 5 Honours Diploma is being withdrawn and the 2014-15 academic year is the last year it will be available. If you wish to sit the Honours Diploma you will need to complete the course and pass the assessment on or before the 31st of July 2015.***

Common to all our qualifications is the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting.

The WSET is the only wine & spirit education organisation approved by the UK government as a national awarding body of vocational qualifications. WSET Awards also co-ordinate the annual selection of outstanding candidates to be presented with industry sponsored Scholarships.

Many WSET qualifications (those with QCF in the title) are part of the UK qualifications framework, and the education courses leading to WSET qualifications are an invaluable source of information for students to enhance their knowledge of wines and spirits. WSET qualifications are not a guarantee of employment or career progression, nor do they form part of any regulated qualifications framework outside UK.
