Intermediate wine tasting

The Academy of Cheese return to WSET School London for our first cheese and wine collaboration of 2019.

This is your chance to taste a round up of top British cheeses, those that professional judges have awarded the top medals to at both British and international competitions in 2018. Whilst tasting you will follow the Academy of Cheese tasting and assessment guide, giving you insight into how cheeses are graded and judged at competition level.

The event will be co-hosted by cheese specialist Charlie Turnbull along with our own Lydia Harrison DipWSET

Sample cheeses and their pairings:

  • Sparkenhoe Red Leicester (handmade traditional territorial), with Malbec
  • Stratford Blue (smooth, creamy blue from Lancashire), with sweet Chenin Blanc
  • Edmund Tew (creamy, wrinkly Langres style cows milk cheese), with Pinot Noir
  • Ashlynn (raw milk hard goats cheese), with Syrah/Shiraz
  • Berkswell (raw milk hard sheep’s milk cheese), with a red or white wine from South West France
  • Celtic Promise (semi-soft washed rind Caerphilly style), with Viognier

Please note, the exact list may differ slightly on the evening. 

Booking Terms and Conditions

Payment in full must be made at the time of booking and places are not confirmed until payment has been received, we cannot take provisional bookings.

Transfer requests will be accepted up to two weeks before each event.

Cancellation charges:

  • Up to 2 weeks before the tasting you will receive a refund less 10%.
  • Within 2 weeks of the tasting fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
