What we offer

Each month the WSET offers a number of evening tasting events at the London Wine & Spirit School for people wanting to learn more about a particular topic without seeking additional qualifications. Theses tutored tastings are delivered by subject experts or winemakers and are designed to be both fun and educational and delivered in an informal manner.

We have rated our tastings according to the required level of starting knowledge. For full details on course ratings and booking information click on the PDF below. All of these tastings (EXCEPT WHERE STATED) take place at the London Wine & Spirit School, 39-45 Bermondsey Street, SE1 3XF between 6.30 & 8.00pm.

Want to know more about wine but don’t know where to start? This introductory tasting provides you with necessary skills to taste wines like a true professional – from appearance to palate. In addition, we’ll teach you how wine is made and what makes them different, both in the vineyard and the winery. Perfect for the enthusiast eager to learn more!

As Italy’s largest wine-producing region, Veneto is responsible for producing a large proportion of quality wines. This tasting incorporates a diverse wine list to illustrate the multitude of wine styles, sheds light on some of the smaller regions and looks at some of the novel production techniques used to create their distinctive style.

Tuscany has long been at the forefront of Italian viticulture. This tasting explores traditional Tuscany rather than the innovative Super-Tuscan movement. With a focus on reds this tasting will explore the increased use of blending with International varieties and the influence of oak maturation.

Outside of the DOC regulations many producers towards the warmer Tuscan coast produce prestigious wines using local and international grape varieties. Small production volumes contrast with high profiles and equally high prices make these wines greatly sort after. This tasting provides insight into the “cult” wines of Tuscany.
