To celebrate International Sherry Week, Lauren Denyer DipWSET takes an in-depth look at the emerging and lesser-known wine styles of Jerez.

Event details

Advanced wine tasting

Sherry is famous for its wonderful dry and fortified wine styles  and the region where it is from, Jerez, is steeped in history and tradition. However, is there change on the horizon? With the introduction of new classifications and systems to enable diversification of the offering, what can we expect for the future of sherry? WSET School London's resident sherry expert, Lauren Denyer DipWSET will guide you through the new labelling terms and a tasting of six wines to explore the new and lesser-known styles of sherry, including a wine from neighbouring Montilla-Moriles.

Example wines:

  • Light Palomino wine

  • Peter Sisseck Viña Corales Fino en Rama

  • Fernando de Castilla Antique Fino

  • Cesar Florido Moscatel

  • A vintage or VORS sherry

  • Gran Barquero Pedro Ximenez, Montilla-Moriles
