Across South Africa, the world of winemaking is changing. For some years now, a so-called "new wave" of producers has been rediscovering forgotten regions and revitalising them with a new emphasis on quality, craft and care.
Join Malcolm Venter to discover what is happening at the cutting edge of South Africa's wine scene and taste your way through eight superb wines that will show the diversity and quality that exists across the country.
You’ll learn about the vineyards and the winemakers that are making South Africa one of the most exciting places to make wine in the world, and taste the wines alongside some traditional (and non-traditional) snacks.

About the presenter, Malcolm Venter
Malcolm developed his passion for wine growing up in South Africa. While living in Cape Town, he was able to visit the winelands every weekend. After working in academia for many years Malcolm was able to follow his nose into a career in wine. He is currently a member of the Educator Training Programme Team at WSET, where he trains future educators around the world.

Payment in full must be made at the time of booking and places are not confirmed until payment has been received. Unfortunately we cannot take provisional bookings.
Cancellations and transfers
- Cancellations and transfers can be made up to two weeks before the event
- Cancellations within 10 working days are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another event
- If you need to change a name on the booking, please give us as much notice as possible
- WSET School London reserves the right to cancel an event. If necessary, a full refund or transfer will be offered.

Tasting level
Intermediate: Some prior knowledge is beneficial – such as a WSET Level 2 qualification – but these sessions will be enjoyable and educational for anyone with an interest in the subject.
