Get to grips with Greece's most prized black grape variety with our host Ipek Leni Candan, tasting a variety of delicious styles along the way.
Event details
Xinomavro is one of Greece's most iconic grape varieties, known for its incredible versatility and complexity.
Often likened to Nebbiolo, this noble grape from northern Greece can produce everything from powerful, age-worthy reds to bright, textured rosés, sparkling wines and still Blanc de Noirs styles.
Often referred to as the "primadonna" or "diva" of the Greek vineyards due to the many challenges it presents in both the vineyard and the winery, Xinomavro can express itself very differently depending on where it's grown.
Its hallmark characteristics include high acidity, firm tannins, and flavours that can range from sun-dried tomatoes and olives to red fruits and spices.
Join us to discover eight diverse interpretations of Xinomavro from across Greece, and beyond.
