Join Elena Barattini DipWSET to dive into the richness of Italy’s indigenous grape varieties, beyond the classics.

Event details

With over 500 grape varieties grown for wines of commercial significance, Italy boasts one of the richest ranges of native grapes in the world. Some are closely related to their more famous counterparts, while others have proven far more difficult to trace in terms of their origins. Many of these indigenous varieties have been cultivated for centuries, yet only recently have they begun to gain wider attention as producers seek to preserve local identity and explore new expressions of Italian wine.

In this tasting, Elena will focus on some of Italy’s more unusual and intriguing varieties, offering an opportunity to broaden your perspective and discover a different side of Italy’s rich wine heritage.

Guests will enjoy the wines alongside a selection of Italian cheeses from Borough Market.
