Take a walk with wine glass in hand across some famous vineyard soils at this tasting that will examine the importance (or not) of key soil types with Geologist Professor Alex Maltman.
Event details
Soil speak is almost impossible to avoid when discussing premium wines with viticulturalists, winemakers, journalists and enthusiasts. But how important are they? What do rocks actually do for wine? Can we taste the limestone?
Find out at this talk and tasting with Professor Alex Maltman. With wine educator Anjali Douglas DipWSET on hand, Alex will ponder these and other questions, drawing on material from his book.
As well as tasting six carefully selected wines, attendees will also be provided with a copy of Alex's book 'Taste the Limestone, Smell the Slate'.
