Steven Spurrier justgiving memorial fund

Weʼre raising £10,000 to offer WSET bursaries in memory of Steven Spurrier, to make drinks education more accessible to individuals facing challenges and hardships.

Steven Spurrier was an internationally revered wine expert who worked in the wine trade for over 50 years.

He will always be remembered for founding the Académie du Vin, the celebrated Judgement of Paris and in recent years, the Académie du Vin Library and, together with his wife Bella, the Bride Valley Vineyard in Dorset, England.

He sadly passed away in March 2021 and, at his memorial on 19th January 2023, it was requested that donations to mark his memory should be made to WSET. Steven was a passionate supporter of WSET (the Wine & Spirit Education Trust) and was WSET Honorary President from 2017 to 2020.

Donations will help fund bursaries to make WSET education available to individuals and communities facing challenges and hardships, helping to foster diversity and inclusion in the drinks industry. We are aiming to raise £10,000 which will fund at least 50 students to take a WSET Level 1 Award in Wines qualification.
