WSET Alumni are invited to join WSET’s Honorary President, Dr Laura Catena, for an exclusive webinar that delves into the rich viticultural heritage of Argentina and its significant role in global biodiversity.
Event details
In this session, Dr Catena will share her vision for using science to preserve both nature and culture. Dr Catena's dedication led to the creation of the Viñedo Supersónico in 2015, a vital reservoir for Mendoza’s genetic diversity and a conservatory aimed at preserving Argentina's many pre-phylloxeric massale-selected cuttings.
Alumni will also learn about the ancient technique of massale selection, where vines are chosen from an established, genetically diverse vineyard and reproduced in a new site. This method, largely abandoned by the rest of the world, remains a cornerstone of Argentina's viticultural practices.
Please note this is an exclusive webinar for WSET Alumni. Attendees must hold the WSET Level 4 Diploma, we reserve the right to cancel tickets booked for non-diploma holders.
