Casella Family Brands is Australia’s largest family-owned wine company, based in Yenda, New South Wales. With a growing portfolio of distinctive Australian wines available in 50+ markets globally, Casella Family Brands is committed to investing in the education and training of the next generation of wine industry professionals and pleased to support the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET).

In addition to the Company’s new partnership with WSET, Casella Family Brands is thrilled to announce a new award for students completing WSET courses. Each year, for the next three years, one talented student who achieves outstanding results in a WSET qualification will win a trip to visit Australia’s premier wine regions including Yenda, New South Wales - home of [yellow tail]; Barossa and Coonawarra in South Australia - home of Peter Lehmann Wines and Brand’s Laira respectively; and Rutherglen - home of Morris Wines and a region renowned for producing magnificent fortified wines.

The Corporate Patrons programme ensures that WSET receives essential funding to allow it to continue to develop its world-class courses and qualifications, as well as maintain and advance its online Global Campus and Alumni programme for graduates. In turn, the partnerships help organisations add value to their own business by maximising the benefits of WSET education and training. They also offer businesses facilitated engagement with WSET’s global network of over 700 Approved Programme Providers that reach thousands of influential wine and spirits professionals and enthusiasts.

John Casella, Managing Director, Casella Family Brands, says: “Casella Family Brands is proud to partner with WSET, such an esteemed global wine education body. I am a firm believer in investing in staff development and training. A large number of CFB staff have completed WSET courses over the years and benefited greatly from the education.

It’s great to be able to formally support WSET in our role as Silver Corporate Patron. It’s also fantastic to offer WSET students the opportunity to visit Australia and discover our country’s most unique and diverse winemaking regions first-hand. Not only would a trip like this be a well-deserved reward for their studies, but it would bring to life everything they have learnt about Australia’s outstanding wine regions.”

Ian Harris, WSET Chief Executive, says: “The support of our Corporate Patrons around the world enables us to maintain and develop our offering to ensure we continually provide top-class education and training to wine and spirits enthusiasts and professionals. We’re thrilled that Casella Family Brands recognises the importance of educating their own staff through WSET and is now also working with us to further drive education across the wider industry and reward outstanding candidates.”
