The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is launching the WSET Events Hub as part of a new trade and consumer events strategy. The WSET Events Hub will be hosted on WSET’s YouTube channel and will offer a series of events across the current academic year targeting the organisation’s different audiences: wine enthusiasts, wine professionals, spirits professionals and alumni.

The format of the events will vary according to the target audience, from webinars and masterclasses to Q&A sessions and IG Lives. Some events will be organised in partnership with WSET corporate patrons. All the events will be virtual to make them as accessible as possible to existing and potential students across the globe. Attendees will be able to join the events live and all sessions will be recorded and published as on-demand, shareable content on YouTube - creating a library of rich content that can be accessed year-round by a global audience.

The first session - entitled Eaux de Vie: In Essence - is on 21 October 2021 at 6.30pm BST. In this bite-sized interview, WSET’s Nick King explores the subject of fruit distillates with expert Barney Wilczak of the Capreolus Distillery. The session will follow Barney’s journey from photography to distilling, delve into why fruits can be notoriously challenging to work with and reflect on the role of bartenders when it comes to this category of spirits. If you are interested in attending, please register for free here.

WSET’s Head of Events and Partnerships, Ami Wilkinson, commented, “We are really excited to be launching our new Events Hub. This will enable us to deliver our own programme of activity for the first time and provide a 24/7 stream of knowledge for industry professionals and enthusiasts. The Events Hub will enable us to gain a better understanding of our target audiences and further develop our content to meet different audience needs.
