Pernod Ricard Sweden partners with WSET to offer free spirits training courses

Pernod Ricard Sweden has today pledged its support to bartenders hit by the uncertainty caused by COVID-19, by partnering with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) to offer Level 1 Award in Spirits online courses for free. With Swedish on-trade venues suffering from a drop in business the wine and spirits supplier is keeping morale high by offering bartenders the opportunity to increase their industry knowledge and skills.

220 bartenders and hospitality professionals over the age of 18 will be able to sign-up to this programme, which will be run online by WSET and lasts approximately five weeks. The package provided by Pernod Ricard Sweden will also includes a selection of its leading spirits including Absolut, Jameson and Beefeater, to be used as tasters throughout the course. Pernod Ricard Sweden’s Brand Ambassador Team will also be available to offer additional online support and to run digital tasting sessions.

Each student accepted onto the course will be expected to attend a final exam. Successful students will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, both of which are internationally recognised across the industry.

Registered Candidates will then be contacted to supply proof of recent employment in the on-trade. Candidates must also be available to collect samples before the commencement of the course in their nominated city.
