WSET is delighted to announce the approval of a new WSET Diploma centre in Paris, France.

The provider, WiSP Wine & Spirit Campus, has been successfully operating a WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines programme from their Bordeaux Campus since 2018. The first course in Paris will launch in October 2021.

The approval of this new centre reflects the rising importance of WSET education in France. France is currently WSET’s third-largest market after the USA and the UK and is growing fast, with candidate numbers increasing by over 200% in the past three years.

Rachel Webster, WSET’s Business Development Director for the EMEA region, said:

“Paris is such a dynamic city for wine. In recent years there has been a huge increase in the number of ambitious, dedicated individuals in and around the city looking for specialist-level wine education. The approval of this new Diploma centre will offer these individuals access to exceptional product knowledge, analytical skills development, fantastic networking opportunities, and global recognition as an expert in the field of wines.

We are delighted that WiSP has decided to bring the WSET Diploma programme to Paris. They have a highly skilled and international pool of educators and they are well known for offering a closely managed support system for candidates, which is so valuable for those studying for this demanding qualification.”

Candidates enrolling on WiSP’s Paris Diploma programme will benefit from immersive trips to both Champagne and Bordeaux, where they will visit vineyards, iconic producers, small estates and key institutions.

Fanny Darrieusecq, General Manager of WiSP, said:

“We feel extremely honoured by the recognition and the trust demonstrated by WSET by approving WiSP as a Diploma provider in Paris. There was a strong expectation from the industry and we really were keen to satisfy this demand by establishing this programme of excellence in the French capital.

WiSP’s Diploma programme has been designed considering two important criteria that govern our daily work. The first was to ensure very high educational standards thanks to a team of internationally renowned lecturers and individualised support for our candidates. The second was to create a programme where the lessons would be coupled with educational visits to major French wine regions. Having the chance to spend time in one of the cradles of wine culture and meet industry figures represents a great opportunity that we want to share with our candidates".

Paris is the third location in France to offer the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines, alongside WiSP’s Bordeaux Campus and Esprits de Vins in Mâcon.

WiSP’s first Diploma programme in Paris begins on Monday 18 October and is currently open for registrations. Find out more about the course and how to enrol here.

Please note that the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines is available in English only and the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines is a prerequisite for enrolment.
